I am a fully qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist based in leafy Farnham Surrey, close to Guildford, Woking and under an hour from London. I practise from my therapy room, a stone’s throw away from busy central Farnham, in a beautiful, tranquil space, surrounded by nature. Hypnotherapy sessions via skype, are available  for clients who are not local to me.

I also practice at the Wellbeing Space, Surrey’s go-to Preventative Health centre, conveniently located  in the centre of Farnham.

Solution focused hypnotherapy is a brief therapy that combines talking therapy (psychotherapy), with clinical hypnosis. It is a modern, brain-based therapy that is based on Neuroscience and its latest, up to date findings. It uses solution building, rather than a problem solving.

Though the client’s past is acknowledged, it is not a therapy that involves delving into the past to find the solutions. Rather, Solution focused hypnotherapy is one that encourages clients to envisage their desired future, and to create realistic goals that they wish to achieve.

I assist clients in discovering their own inner resources and courage to make changes for the better. By focusing more on what you do want and less on what you don’t want, what you don’t want fades away, and there is space to place your energy on mentally rehearsing your desired reality.

What I love about being a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist is seeing my clients empowered by the transformational changes that they make in a relatively brief time. It is so rewarding to see their happiness and confidence growing, as they   become the best version of themselves and start to  live the life that they desire and deserve.

I began having sessions with Natalie, approximately weekly, in early December about four and a half months ago. Although I have had periods of anxiety in my life, when I began the sessions I wasn’t feeling any particular discomfort or feeling that I had problem areas in my life. Rather, I was looking forward to optimizing my musical performances (I play bass in two bands), and seeing what else hypnotherapy might offer. Since beginning, I have noticed the following improvements: Greater comfort and ease while playing, both while playing shows and at rehearsal, greater depth and easier access to relaxed states during meditation, an easier time handling ‘hot button’ stresses, such as while driving or in other circumstances. I do respond to stresses in the old way at times. Anger, irritability, sadness, and the whole crew of negative emotions can pop up quickly and take over for a time. But as they begin to grow, I have an easier time becoming aware of them and not feeding them. A moment of irritation doesn’t have to become a full-on sulk. A flash of anger doesn’t have to turn into an internal tirade. There is awareness – and I know this relates directly to some of the scripts of the sessions – that it is better to focus on positive experiences and not to feed negative emotions. Perhaps my years of meditation are also helping (I like to think so), but hypnotherapy has more overtly helped than anything else.

Phobia of Flying

Natalie has the most amazing manner and soothing voice. I have been seeing her for four sessions with a phobia of flying. She explained exactly what would happen at each stage and each session was really relaxing. Not only was I completely cured of the phobia, but I have had the best sleep that I have had for years.
